The importance of reading for your children

Stotory images

Reading to children is important for many reasons and is a part of children’s development. Research shows that it also encourages language development

It makes them understand the words and context on their way to building their own language and to understand the world around them. It also creates a desire to read.

It is important that children have the opportunity to create their own internal images by listening to a story without external images. This trains the children to eventually do the reverse, i.e., to write stories based on their own thoughts.

About the fairy tales

The app has collected old classic folklore fairy tales. There are also some newly written by Inga-Lill Ottosson, who has a background as a primary school teacher.

The old folklore fairy tales are written or collected by the Danish author HC Andersen, the Brothers Grimm, and Charles PerraultThese stories are in Public Domain and most of the texts we have got from the Project Gutenberg
We also hope this project will contribute to that these old stories are remembered over the generations
