Reading to children is important for many reasons and is a part of children’s development. Research shows that it also encourages language development
It makes them understand the words and context on their way to building their own language and to understand the world around them. It also creates a desire to read.
It is important that children have the opportunity to create their own internal images by listening to a story without external images. This trains the children to eventually do the reverse, i.e., to write stories based on their own thoughts.
